Placing an orderWe accept orders by email, fax, or telephone. We prefer at least 24 hours notice for self-service cold buffets and 72 hours for self-service hot buffets. For large orders that require chefs, waiters, waitresses and equipment on site, the planning is a lot more detailed and we would ask that you give as much notice as possible though, in general, 7 days notice will usually be fine. Although we prefer not to, we do have the ability to work at short notice and will always attempt to meet your requirements. But we hope you will understand if we have to prioritise for customers who have booked in advance. Arrival of the foodWe use only high quality ingredients and all our food is either prepared and cooked on the day of delivery, or cooked on site. We can guarantee that the food for cold buffets will stay in a fresh condition for 3.1/2 hours from delivery provided it is kept out of direct sunlight and is not kept in an unnaturally warm location or close to a radiator. Our hot self-service buffets will arrive in a high-quality insulated box which the driver will unpack for you. He or she will also set up a chafing dish and give instructions on its use. The chafing dish will keep the food hot for a further 2 – 3 hours, which is the length of time we can guarantee that the standard of the food remains high. If cooked on site, it will be our responsibility to ensure the food is served at the correct temperature Real crockery & cutleryWhen you order your food from us, we can provide real crockery and cutlery at a flat hire charge of £20. There will be an additional charge of £25.00 if the crockery and cutlery requires cleaning after the event. We will arrange to collect the return items at a mutually-agreeable time. These charges apply to venues that can be reached by a drive of 30 minutes or less from our kitchens at Bexleyheath. Beyond that distance we will have to negotiate the price at the time. Standard with all buffets, and inclusive of cost, are paper plates, serviettes and disposable cutlery (if required). The right to cancel an orderWe will take a cancellation right up to 24hrs before the event, provided that:
In most circumstances we try to avoid charging you for the cancellation but in some instances we may have to cover any additional costs incurred by a last minute cancellation. In such cases, there will be a cancellation charge but please rest assured that we will never seek to exploit the situation. From our viewpoint, once your order has been confirmed, we will consider it to be a contract and will deliver the food, plates and serviettes as close as possible to the time you requested. If there has been an unforeseen delay, we will ring you at the earliest opportunity to tell you what is happening. Fortunately, in practise, this is a very rare occurrence. Waiter/waitress serviceWe do offer a waiter/waitress service, normally as part of an existing package, but we do ask that this service is booked at least seven days in advance of your buffet. Bank Holiday, Sunday or evening buffetsPlease be aware that the quoted prices on our menus apply only to a normal working week, i.e. Monday to Saturday from 0700 to 1700hrs. Orders for a Sunday, during a bank holiday or during very unsociable hours do incur an extra labour charge but we will always endeavour to ensure such charges are minimal. Payment termsFor private functions we require a 20% deposit paid seven days before the event with the balance due seven days after the event. For business functions we offer a 28-day settlement period. We can accept cash or cheques, payment by debit or credit card over the telephone, or your account can be settled via a BACS transfer. Details of our bank account are shown on each invoice. Invoices are sent out at the end of each week by email or they can be hand-delivered with the buffet if preferred. Please note: We are a small business with a large overhead and cannot afford long settlement delays. If we have not received prompt payment we will ring you on or around the 7th/28th day to give you a polite reminder and we will send you a written statement of account. You must then settle any outstanding amounts within 10 days to avoid further action. In the unlikely event that we have still not received payment we reserve the right to add statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate for each overdue day. Pricing policyWe always aim to be competitive on our prices without compromising our high standards. However, the quoted prices can be adjusted and revisions are based on the size of the order, i.e. larger orders lower the price per head. All our buffet menus have been priced from minimum order level to approximately 50 people. Orders over 50 make it easier for us to get special deals from our suppliers and this is reflected in the price we charge you. We can also adjust prices based on volumes of food ordered, or by removing complex time-consuming buffet items. Using these parameters in combination, we are therefore able to meet a specific budget
